Vitamin A  is also called retinol, it is found in products of animal origin, and in products of plant origin we find provitamin A - beta carotene.

This vitamin plays an important role in the metabolism of proteins and steroid hormones. It helps maintain good vision and prevents vision impairment in the dark, increases the body's immunity, and is also involved in the formation of mucous membranes.

In the dermis layers, vitamin A increases the production of collagen and elastin. Retinoids protect the formed collagen against degradation. They also stimulate the reaction of transforming fibroblasts with low activity into cells with relatively high collagen production.

Retinoids regulate the functioning of the sebaceous glands, accelerate the healing of epidermal damage, and are used in numerous skin problems.
