Wild oregano oil is a rich source of vitamins A and C, flowanoids and phenols, including carvacrol, which is a well-known aroma of oregano.

Oregano  (common marjoram) has many active substances: tannins, volatile oils rich in phenols, flavonoids, terpenoids, phytosterols.

Due to the content of tannins and phenolic compounds: carvacrol and thymol, oregano has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Among the many valuable properties of oregano, the antifungal effect against the fungus Candida albicans deserves particular attention. Modern scientific research confirms that carvacrol inhibits the growth of Candida, as well as many gram (-) and gram (+) bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant strains.

Oregano also has a relaxing effect on the smooth muscles of the bronchi (e.g. inhalant allergies, asthma, bronchitis), the intestines: flatulence and indigestion, and the uterus during menstrual bleeding.
