Teavigo® obtained from Chinese tea leaves (Camellia sinensis), rich in natural pure catechins. These polyphenols have been shown to have many biochemical and physiological benefits.

While there are over 3,000 types of tea, each is made from the evergreen tea Camellia sinensis, classified as green tea (unfermented), oolong tea (partially fermented), and black tea (fully fermented).

Partially and fully fermented tea is brown because fermentation activates the oxidation of enzymes or biochemical reactions of proteins contained in the tea. Green tea is dried quickly, which activates enzymes, so it retains its natural green color and high catechin content. Polyphenols contained in tea are mainly catechins, which constitute 20% of the leaves and are responsible for the beneficial effects of green tea on health.

Tea polyphenols are widely used in food, cosmetics, supplements and pharmaceuticals.
