An innovative combination of Vitamin K and Vitamin D plays an important role in building and maintaining strong bones.

Vitamin K in the patented form  Vita MK7 ®  is one of the few sources of 100% natural vitamin K, very easily absorbable, tested and with documented effects approved by EFSA (European Food Agency)

Vitamin D :
- helps in the proper functioning of the immune system.
- helps in the proper absorption/use of calcium and phosphorus.
- contributes to the proper level of calcium in the blood.
- helps maintain healthy teeth.
- helps in the proper functioning of muscles.
- helps maintain healthy bones.

Vitamin D comes from lanolin, which is used to obtain 7-Dehydrocholesterol - an organic derivative of cholesterol.

7-Dehydrocholesterol is a starting compound for the production of cholecalciferol. As a result of production processes, vitamin D is obtained in a similar way to humans - i.e. through exposure of the skin to the sun.

More about vitamin K

Vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and vitamin K2 (menaquinone) are the two most important forms of vitamin K discovered in food. Vitamin K1 can be found in green leafy vegetables , spinach, broccoli, etc. Vitamin K contributes to proper blood clotting.

Vitamin K2  is found in high concentration in natto - a traditional Japanese dish, and is much better absorbed by the body than vitamin K1. Finally, vitamin K2 has no connection with soy, because vitamin K2 is obtained in a laboratory using the Bacillus subtilis natto bacteria,  i.e. the bacteria found in the dish called natto.
There is information on the market that vitamin K2 in supplements comes from soy - i.e. from a Japanese dish called "Natto" - this is false information, indicating the lack of knowledge of the companies selling and often even producing vitamin K2.

Vitamin K2 approved for use in dietary supplements comes from bacterial biofermentation. Most often, two strains of bacteria  are used : Bacillus subtilis natto  and the less popular and untested  Bacillus licheniformis (no scientific publications).

Vitamin K is initially transported to the liver and then to the bones and arterial walls, where it can accumulate due to its improved bioavailability and longer half-life, thus playing an important role in maintaining strong bones.

Vitamin K in the patented form of VitaMK7® is a natural source of vitamin K obtained from natto, very easily absorbable, tested and with documented effects approved by EFSA (European Food Agency)

More about vitamin K itself in the form of Vita MK7 ® :

Is Vita MK7 ®  the most advanced K menachion 7 product on the market?

Yes. VitaMK7® comes from natural sources. It is produced in a patented biofermentation process using Bacillus subtilis natto bacterial cultures. No other bacteria that are used in other forms (e.g. synthetic) are involved in the fermentation process.

All-trans menaquinone 7?

Vita MK7 ®  Contains > 99% all-trans menaquinone 7 (i.e. a pure source of vitamin K). Synthetic sources contain a maximum of 95% of vitamin K.
Additionally
 , Vita MK7 ® :
• does not contain impurities and residues from the fermentation process
• has no bacterial residues
• does not contain admixtures of synthetic forms
• does not take part in any synthetic processes

Is Vita MK7 ®  completely free of allergens and soy?

Yes. We can with full responsibility certify that the product does not contain allergens or soy, which is used to produce other artificial forms of vitamin K.

Vita MK7 ®  does not contain:
• allergens
• soy and its derivatives
• genetically modified GMO ingredients
• gluten
• lactose
• pesticides and toxins

Are chemicals and thinners used in the manufacturing process of Vita MK7 ® ?

The entire production process of Vita MK7 ®  is 100% natural, and no chemicals or diluents are used during the entire K extraction process. This unique production process has been patented in Europe, the USA and Japan. Only highly advanced technologies can guarantee the complete absence of solvents.

Is the product certified kosher and suitable for all vegetarians?

Is Vita MK7 ®  the most stable form of K-menaquinone 7 available on the market?

Yes. Vita MK7 ®  is stable for 36 months at room temperature, shielding from light. Additionally, it is stable in combination with calcium and vitamin D3.

What is the difference between Vitamin K MK-4 and Vitamin K MK-7?

Vitamin K contains several subtypes generally designated as menaquinone-N (MK-N), where "N" is the number of isoprenyl aluminum groups. Typically, synthetic MK-4 is used for pharmaceutical purposes (with high dose required: 45 mg/day). Vitamin K MK-4 has lower bioavailability, bioactivity and serum half-life than MK-7. Vitamin K as menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is the most bioavailable and bioactive form of vitamin K.

Can Vita MK7 ®  be consumed mixed with meals and retain its properties?

Yes. It can be mixed in liquids (water, yogurt and oils) and powder preparations, e.g. powdered milk, while retaining all its properties.

Can Vita MK7 ®  be used as food in the EU?

Yes. Vita MK7 ®  has an approved health claim: it plays an important role in building and maintaining strong bones.

Does Vita MK7 ®  have toxicological, preclinical and clinical tests?

Yes. Vita MK7 ®  has been very well tested by Professor G. Littarru and his colleagues (University of Marche - Italy, Institute of Biochemistry, Medical Academy).

Vita MK7 ®  is manufactured in a factory in Italy in compliance with HACCP, cGMP and FDA procedures.

Gnosis has submitted an application to the FDA for approval as a reference menaquinone for Vita MK7 ®  in the American Pharmacopoeia. A particular advantage taken into account by the FDA is the fact that  no solvents are used in the production process of Vita MK7 ® .

Vita MK7 ®   can be used by children

In the biofermentation process, an important production stage is the process of purifying the finished product from all unnecessary compounds, including bacterial residues. Some companies use chemical processes, e.g. hexanes, which, under American law, eliminates them from being called a "100% natural product", but they can still use the phrase "natural product".

Others, such as Vitamin K2 Aliness in the form of VitaMk7, are a "100% natural product", i.e. the cleansing process is a safe and non-chemical process, it is carried out using carbon dioxide. Purification using Co2 is a natural, safe process that achieves very high purity - up to 99%. According to the manufacturer's declaration, vitamin K2 Vita MK7 ® meets this criterion worldwide

What are the contraindications of vitamin K supplementation and what is the safe dose?

Vitamin K2 is a very safe form and has no known toxic effects. According to the Orientation paper, EVM provides a guideline level (GL) of 1000 ug, regardless of the supply of vitamin K from a normal diet. Vitamin K2 is not accumulated in significant amounts in the liver.

When it comes to dosage, all studies are based on dosing from 100µg to 500µg per day.
No toxic effects were found after taking large doses of vitamin K2. This proves that it is very safe, as long as we get it from high-quality and safe dietary supplements.
