What is Indian nettle?
Indian nettle (Coleus forskohlii) is a perennial plant found mainly in Southeast Asia, but also in South America. Indian nettle extract is a source of many biologically active substances that have a positive effect on the body. Among them, the most important is considered to be forskolin, a diterpene, and our extract is standardized to it. Common extracts without standardization for forskolin are usually available on the market. In addition, the plant contains many other compounds valuable to the body - diterpenes, triterpenes (betulin), essential oils, and polyphenols - such as rosmarinic acid.
How does Indian nettle work?
Indian nettle extract has a positive effect on metabolism and fat storage, thus helping to maintain proper body weight. For this reason, the plant is valued and now willingly used by people who are trying to lose weight. However, the health-promoting properties of Coleus forskohlii were noticed and appreciated much earlier in India, where the plant has been used successfully in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years.
