Kenay BioAstin® Astaxanthin 12 mg, 50 capsules

£53.99

Food supplement

  • Natural Hawaiian Astaxanthin
  • Contains naturally occurring carotenoids, including: lutein.

Astaxanthin , a xanthophyll pigment of the Haematococcus Pluvialis algae, gives its characteristic color to, among others, salmon, shrimp and krill. One of the most interesting phenomena in the world of fauna and flora is salmon migration. These fish are excellent at accumulating astaxanthin in their muscles, and perhaps this explains their incredible strength in traveling upstream distances of hundreds and thousands of kilometers.

Haematococcus Pluvialis algae are the main food of krill, so it can be said that the astaxanthin contained in them plus the astaxanthin found in Bioastin will enhance the effect of omega-3 acids in the dietary supplement "Neptune Krill Oil" (NKO - Krill Oil). More scientific research is needed to explain the mechanism of action of astaxanthin - but today you can use its unique properties without any worries, as evidenced by the huge number of positive articles in the world's leading press, including the Times, Newsweek and Sports Ilustrated, as well as in many publications scientific.

Bioastin works perfectly with Spirulina Pacifica algae and Krill Oil.

Cyanotech Corporation has been producing algae products for over 21 years.

It has developed advanced technology that, combined with the excellent location of the farm on the Kona Coast, Hawaii, makes it possible to produce algae products without any contamination.

Advanced technology is used to produce BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin from Haematococcus Pluvialis algae . The initial stage of growing these algae takes place in closed pool systems with a capacity of up to 40,000 liters. The next short "red dyeing" cycle lasting 5-7 days takes place in open breeding ponds with a capacity of 50,000 liters. At each stage of BioAstin production, Haematococcus algae cultures are inspected using a microscope to ensure that the cultures are clean and free of contaminants. After the "red dyeing" cycle is completed, the algae are collected, washed and dried. The final stage of BioAstin production is the extraction of dried Haematococcus algae biomass using supercritical carbon dioxide into oleoresin, free from biological or environmental contaminants. The supercritical extraction process is a key production stage that ensures the appropriate effectiveness, purity and quality of BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin.

There is a common misconception that closed microalgae breeding pools protect against contamination with other organisms. However, this is not true. Such closed cultures may also be contaminated by other algae, fungi or protozoa. In such a situation, the removal of biological contaminants in closed pools may be very difficult due to the specificity of this type of culture systems. Indeed, ongoing contamination from closed farms has led to serious problems for algae formula manufacturers in California, Europe and Hawaii (not Cyanotech). Closed and open breeding pool systems have been developed based on many years of experience of Cyanotech. They were intended to minimize problems and ensure that algae products were free of contaminants.

Production of BioAstin

Cyanotech is licensed by the Hawaii Department of Health to produce and process natural Astaxanthin. We are also GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certified and operate in accordance with FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) guidelines.

Each batch of BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin undergoes rigorous quality control tests to ensure the highest quality and purity of the final product. In addition, many years of experience and patented technology allow us to produce much larger amounts of natural astaxanthin than our competitors. Our market share in sales of products with Astaxanthin is over 95%.
