Rutin by NOW® contains a powdered extract of Japanese pearl tree with a high content of rutin - a flavonoid whose structure includes quercetin and disaccharide - rutinose. Flavonoids are most often found in fruits, vegetables, seeds, buckwheat leaves, legumes, tea and red wine. Rutin has been detected in the leaves of common rue. It can also be obtained from buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) and Japanese pearlwort (Sophora japonica).
