Serrapeptase is a highly efficient proteolytic (protein digesting) enzyme originally discovered in a bacterium found in the intestines of the Japanese silkworm. Swanson Serrazimes contains an innovative, vegetarian-friendly source of serrapeptase grown on Aspergillus in a process developed by the enzyme experts at Deerland Probiotics & Enzymes (formerly National Enzyme Company). Serrapeptase activity is measured in "serratiopeptase units", and this formula delivers a powerful 40,000 units per capsule.

Other ingredients: Emulsifier: microcrystalline cellulose (vegetable fiber); thickener: hydroxyproylmethylcellulose (vegetable capsule shell); filler: maltodextrin.
Contraindications: Do not use if you have a blood clotting disorder or if you are taking medications that affect blood clotting, such as vitamin K, heparin or warfarin (Coumadin).
How to use: Take 1 capsule daily on an empty stomach at least 2 hours before or after a meal with water. Do not exceed recommended servings for consumption during the day. The product cannot be used as a substitute for a properly varied diet.
Store at room temperature, out of the reach of small children.
