What is angelica?

Chinese angelica (Dong Quai) is a plant belonging to the Apiaceae family, occurring naturally in China. Dried angelica root is sometimes called "female ginseng" and has been known in traditional Far Eastern medicine for its health-promoting properties for centuries.

What is the standardization and origin of the extract ?

When planning Dong Quai supplementation, it is worth paying attention to standardization, i.e. the strength of the extract. Supplement manufacturers often use non-standardized extracts, based only on the DER value, or their products are based not on an extract, but on dried, powdered plant material with a much lower content of active ingredients. The extract contained in our product is highly standardized to ligustilide, amounting to 1.5%. This means that each 100 mg of the extract contains as much as 1.5 mg of ligustilide, the main active ingredient of angelica root .
