NOW® Liquid Vitamin D-3  provides this critical vitamin in a convenient liquid form. The body normally obtains vitamin D from food or produces it (synthesis) in the skin under the influence of ultraviolet radiation from the sun. However, in the summer, this synthesis is limited due to the use of cosmetics with UV filters and it is recommended for older people and pregnant women to avoid excessive exposure to the sun. In autumn and winter, synthesis is limited due to reduced sunlight.
