Black Currant Oil is obtained from blackcurrant seeds; it is an oil with valuable nutritional properties, containing 14% of gamma linolenic acid (GLA). Both acids: alpha linolenic acid, belonging to the group of omega-3 acids, and gamma linolenic acid, belonging to omega-6 acids, are considered essential unsaturated fatty acids. Although the body can produce GLA (gamma linolenic acid) from other omega-6 fatty acids in the diet, it can be used more efficiently if it comes directly from the diet.
