Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) is a species of plant from the grapevine family. It comes from the Mediterranean regions, but is cultivated all over the world. Wines, juices, jams, tartaric acid and wine vinegar are produced from the fruit of the grapevine. Grapes are rich in valuable vitamins, minerals and beneficial substances such as resveratrol and proanthocyanidins (OPC).
Black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) is a plant belonging to the pepper family. It comes from the south-eastern regions of India. One of the most popular spices is made from its fruit. Thanks to the high content of essential oils and piperine alkaloid, black pepper gives dishes a distinctive, slightly burning taste. Due to its beneficial properties, piperine contained in black pepper is also used in the production of dietary supplements and medicinal products.
